BlindWalkDeveloped an indoor navigation system app for the blind that uses sound cues to allow the blind to navigate through virtual maps of indoor buildings. Decreased number of attempts it takes for a blind individual to independently navigate through a building from 30-35 to 5-6.
Invenio STEM JournalInvenio is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) research journal that publishes original research work conducted by high school students. This online and in-print journal strives to be an engaging forum for young scientists to publish and share their research as well as a repository of ideas in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. Through this, we hope to spread enthusiasm for student research, generate buzz about innovative ideas and projects, and serve as an inspiration for high school students in the Bay Area.
TouchProstheticsBuilt a tactile feedback system that enables amputees to feel tactile sensations, such as contact and pressure, through their prosthetic arms to enable amputees to no longer have rely solely on visual feedback to receive sensory information while touching and grasping objects, provide feeling of currently absent exteroception variables, and satisfy both somatotopic and modality matching.
Cancer Mutations DetectorDeveloped and programmed in C++ a biclustering algorithm to identify similarities between Glioblastoma multiforme patients in terms of clinical symptoms, abnormal miRNA expressions, copy number alterations, atypical DNA methylation sites, somatic mutations, and aberrant gene expressions to find the probable causes of the brain tumor, Glioblastoma multiforme.
