About Me

Hi, I’m Maitreyee!

Here’s a small snapshot of me:

I am currently an undergraduate studying Computer Science and minoring in Drama at Carnegie Mellon University. I am passionate about using technology to help the disabled and have worked on several independent projects in this area. These projects include an iOS app to help the blind independently navigate themselves in indoor buildings, a tactile feedback system that enables amputees to feel sensations through their prosthetic arms, and a biclustering algorithm to identify mutations that cause a cancerous brain tumor, Glioblastoma multiforme. Due to my love for helping the disabled, I founded a company that develops technology for the disabled. I also co-founded a STEM Research Journal that publishes original research work conducted by high school students.

Besides those academic-related activities, I am a huge fan of art and sports. My speciality in art is charcoal drawings and I especially love drawing portraits. I’ve been playing competitive, gold and silver-level soccer and running cross-country for several years. I competed in several half-marathons and other running competitions during my middle school days and I hope to run my first marathon soon!
